A little about me
I’m originally from Southern California but have lived in Boston for over 17 years, which has resulted in a love of turtleneck sweaters.
I am a fan of the hit reality TV show, Survivor. I can passionately talk about gameplay and strategy to anyone who will listen.
UX Experience
To transition my career to UX, I enrolled full-time in the Human Factors in Information Design program at Bentley University’s McCallum Graduate School of Business. I aimed to obtain a solid educational foundation, gain relevant experience, and build a strong network.
As part of my master’s program, I worked on several UX design and research projects for real-world clients, including Wayfair, Toast, and the Massachusetts Court System.
I now have 3.5 years of professional experience as a UX researcher in a consulting and embedded capacity. I have worked on B2B & B2C products and services for companies like Wistia, iRobot, and Indeed.
Unfortunately, I was recently part of a mass tech layoff and am looking for my next opportunity.
UX perspective
My genuine curiosity about human behavior and appetite for problem-solving motivates me to uncover user problems and design creative solutions. I’m passionate about exploring people’s realities to uncover and address their challenges. I rely on research to inspire and ground thoughtful universal design in the human experience.
How my previous experience relates to UX
Before UX, I learned skills that continue to be relevant to my work. Here are some examples of how this experience helps me today:
– Video production and event planning helps me plan and execute the many details and logistics of research studies
– Counseling students from around the world helps me build rapport with research participants
– Graphic design and digital media gave me a foundation in different forms of visual communication and helps me quickly learn prototyping tools
– Teaching, storytelling, and comedy helps me command a room and engage stakeholders while delivering findings and design recommendations
